Today

TODAY is a day, for me to remember you, all the things you used to say, and everything you would do.

The lessons that you taught me, the times you held my hand, No matter What, Where, When, or why, you were a safe place to land.

The times we’d sit out on that rock, you’d teach me constellations, my little eyes couldn’t see the patterns, but saw your dedication.

All the jokes you told me, and stories of you as a kid, no one could make me smile and laugh just as much as you did.

Having you around was the best, to you I could always confide, I know my secrets are still safe with you, I still feel you by my side.

I hope on the other side you anxiously wait for the day, that I will run into your arms and again we can play.

I know that day isn’t far off, I feel it in my heart, but until then stay by me, help me to be smart.

Sometimes decisions are hard and I just don’t want to wait, but the most important thing you taught me is not to end my fate.

I see it causes lots of pain so I will hold on, by the way I don’t blame you, and I haven’t all along.

I know we had our problems, I know we had our fights, I wish I had the chance to go back, and turn our wrongs to rights.

The rest doesn’t matter, because all you need to see, is who I am because of you, and who you are to me.
