Oh something's old,
But something's new,
And something's gold,
I think it's you.
Something's mean,
And something's red,
Our love was clean,
But my heart's dead.
My shade is blue,
My eyes are cold,
I thought you knew,
My feelings told.....
You the story,
Of my heart,
Next time I'll hold back,
I'll be smart.
Well i wrote that the other day...so yes I am the author :) below i have included a "Poem Breakdown" If you did not fully understand the meaning of this poem :) Thanks!
Poem Breakdown:
*So if you read that one closely, It uses colors to explain emotions and feelings. In the first stanza it talks about an old feeling, but there is something new to it. Something is "gold" which means it's bright, beautiful, first, etc. In the second stanza it says something is mean, and red. well red can be love and hate. the "love" in the stanza WAS clean(past tense) and the "heart" IS dead (present tense). Third stanza says the writers shade is blue, which can mean sadness, and the eyes are "Cold" therefore the eyes are wet, and glaring. It speaks of someone that was supposed to know the writers feelings. The fourth and final stanza explains what someone was supposed to see through the writers feelings, and then speaks of the caution they will use next time, to not get hurt.
